    Hi,

I’ve been trying for quite some time now to root Dell Venue (Froyo) but to no avail, I’m getting frustrated with this. I’ve managed to come to Step # using SuperOneClick v2.3.3 but it hangs there.

    Any suggestions? Thanks!

I’m in the same situation. Same phone Alcatel OT-990 with Android 2.3.4. Hope that the next version will support this phone. Can’t wait to get it rooted.

FYI —- MEGAUPLOAD is no longer a working website — any link posted there by shortfuse or anyone else will NOT work.

MEGAUPLOAD was seized by the FBI and the owners charged with several alleged crimes.

you will have to upload SUPERONECLICK to some other website.

until then – it will be permanently unavailable.

This is probably a bit too late, but in most cases, you have to go back to 2.2 or 2.1 versions of superoneclick for older versions of android to root properly.

Just to let you know I also tried and tried a lot on LG P920 v21b (Optimus 3D) 2.3.5 with no success, unfortunately. Also stuck at step #7. SuperOneClick 2.3.3

Please forgive me if this seems stupid or obvious, but have you guys with LG Devices tried GingerBread? I tried every other method I could find with no luck, and had the EXACT same problem with SuperOneClick that you all are describing and Gingerbread worked first time, and continues to serve me well =)

        Good luck!

what is strange is that I also tried with UNLOCK ROOT and does not work either on their site even if he put his running for lg p920

there is something in the gingerbread version that blocks the root but what?

          1. jj

In Gingerbread 2.3.5 (at least in ei22) Samsung has implemented a script that flashes the stock recovery upon reboot, even if a custom recovery is pushed during rooting. This means that rooting will not stick using standard methods unless this script is dealt with first.

I’m guessing this is why SuperOneClick is not working for s5830xwks2 Gingerbread 2.3.5 and several other phones.

May be worth looking into for future updates???

            Cheers

I surely hope the SuperOneClick dev crew comes up with a work-around for Gingerbread 2.3.5 for the Captivate. I will definately make a donation to them if they come up with a new version that addresses the Samsung script that re-flashes back to stock….

Obviously the superoneclick, nor any other program can root the LG P920-925 Series Thril 3d-/Optimus or otherwise. It does not work. THese phones can not be rooted any more by conventional means obviously. because here it is September 2012 and my shit still is not rooted, been waiting months checking every available resource for months, still, no answers… Donation or otherwise.

Been trying all previous versions to root my LG GW620 phone but had no joy. After waiting a few months v2.3.3.0 was developed, but I had to uninstall .NET Framework 4 and install .NET Framework 3.5 as it could not find the “runtime”.
Once I installed this, Superoneclick v2.3.3.0 worked fine and rooted the GW620 the first time I tried it!

Many thanks for a great program!

Hello JJ, try this, start your cellphone as if you were a perform a hard reset (make a backup first of everything as you will loose what you don’t save), when you see the hardreset logo/menú (depending on your cellphone), conect it to the SuperOneClick with your adb drivers and it must work.

thanks for responding. I tried version 2.3.3 on the i897 with 2.2 turned phone off. selected psneuter. pressed root. connected cables & powered up phone.

superone click got to line two and nothing else has happened. “starting adb server” on one side, “daemon started successfully” is on the other.

No other response or action happened after that. Any other suggestions?

Phone does have the sd card inserted during this.

finally got it. Here’s what I did on the Captivate i897 with 2.2
went to a different laptop that didn’t have Kies or anything else loaded on it. Downloaded super one click latest version on that computer. started super one click. The phone had already been put into USB debug mode and turned off. SD card was left in phone. USB cord plugged into phone, not into computer. So super one click was started, clicked “root” with it left on Auto. Plugged in phone, then turned phone on.
Super One Click got to second stage and was sitting there with (not responding) next to name. Message comes up bottom of screen “device not recognized, do you want to load drivers”. I click yes and click find drivers on the internet. Walk away from phone…several minutes go by and super one click still (not responding), drivers are loading according to box at bottom of computer screen. I walk away from the computer for another 15 minutes or so, come back, and phone is rooted. Donated $5 and commenced to removing at&t bloatware. I dunno if I’m the dumbest guy on here but I had about 20 hrs in it.

This is total GARBAGE, Everyone raves about this software and it does ABSOLUTLY NOTHING! It’s 10.I MEG download of Spam saying “I don’t have no more time for this anymore” and send me money cuz like over 5 million copies have been downloaded and my expectations have not been met and I need money like $1.00 a piece from you guys cuz I’m engaged and getting married soon so send me money to pay for the wedding while you use this worthless POS software.

Nothing works in this software, NOTHING! There is NO rage against the cage exploit in any of the 4 different versions that I’ve downloaded from different locations, there is no way to tell if the versions have been altered as there is no security hash number provided, I have spent days reading posts on 30+ sites, trying different things and nothing works past “starting daemon on port 5″, check drivers, NOTHING, use alternate ADB parser, NOTHING, check update, NOTHING….. But the donate me button works fine, straight to paypal, very nice.

My last download was this one 2.3.3 from this site through multiupload.com/9AJDSU1Q11…

Instead of investing time into spamming and begging us for your dollar, give us all instructions on how to use this software, oh and don’t forget to make something that actually WORKS! I will then give you money for your wedding cake.

Oh, I have a Viewsonic Viewpad 7 just in case someone was going to chime in and ask.

Only problem is Medscape (a medical knowledge app – I’m a med student) stopped updating. It always says that “internet connectivity was interrupted” (and I do have internet connectivity). I was wondering, does SuperOneClick include any kind of ad blocking software? I read some reports of users having the exact same problem after installing adfree, but I have never installed that app.

Any ideas on how to revert the ad blocking issue?

Thank you for your response. The problem isn’t when it “sleeps” for ~40s tho, it’s when the program is shell rooting and on step #7. It says it is waiting for device and a bunch of script runs on the right half of the window, but then nothing else happens, no matter how long I wait. The script on the right of the window looks as follows:

    hey!
am new to the rooting process and i just wanted to ask is it available yet for the gingerbread 2.3.3?? I’m using Galaxy Tab GT-p1000. and if it’s what are the steps, the right version of super one click, and is it safe and reversible? as i have lots of files and application that i can’t afford to lose. One last thing to ask is what rooting is actually for and what kinda improvements do i get from using super one click? sorry for making my question a bit long..
thnx for ur hard work!! :)

Any suggestion? Btw, It’s worked well in Galaxy Mini (Froyo) and My Xperia X10i (Gingerbread). Thanks a lot.

So, I have donated because we have been successful on just about everyone’s tablet and MP3 player for Christmas. ATT Captivate, Galaxy Player 4″, Galaxy Player 5″. I have two yet to go, though. Both are Acer brand tabs. One is the A100 7″ and the other is the A500 10″. They are both Iconia and I think they are running Honeycomb. I see lots of back and forth on can and can’t do on the 2.x.x versions, but no chatter on the Honeycomb version products. Am I too early, or should this be working for them as well? Oh, and I still have two friends that have those Polariod Internet Tablet ones from Kohls. I tried to help them out, but they don’t seem to root either. Very much appreciate your efforts so far.

Hi, Everytime I click SuperOne Click to download,(for Kindle Fire use) a different program comes up like 7zip and Mulitupload. When I do down load it on to my computer SuperOneClick does not show up as a new folder. What gives.

I have the Samsung sch-i500 and verizon pushed the 2.3.5 update a feew weeks ago without giving me the option of accepting it or not. I woke up and the phone had restarted by itself with the update installed. Wasn’t that considerate of them … doing it for me, probably assuming I wasn’t intelligent enough to do it on my own. That’s why I decided to root my phone … well that and because I wanted to do the titanium backup program so I was elated when I found the SuperOneClick. Sounded simple enough but it too failed on step 7. I’m running Win 7 64-bit and have tried 2.3.3 version and a couple back but to no avail. I did some more Googling and ran across this blog as well as others and have done all the steps that that I have run across but always hanging up at step 7. Fortunately, I didn’t donate (and I do support programs that work so don’t think I’m just a freeloader). So, are there any procedures that are known to work to root this phone or to roll back to the froyo 2.2 or has verizon won this round?

second point – I guess I should consider myself fortunate because I didn’t brick my phone by assuming this would work.

Hi, I tried to use Superoneclick v 2.3.3 in an AT&T Samsung Infuse 4G SGH-i997 with stock 2.3.6 gingerbread, I did unmount the SD, enable USB debugging and have the drivers installed, windows, adb in cmg mode and KIES detect the device, and SOC seems to do it but doesn’t root it, I’m using x64 version of Windows 7. The log below is from Superoneclick software. I will donate if you can help me and I’ll be very pleased be sure of that! So if you can help me, please feel free to contact me and we will reach a deal. thanks and kind regards.

    Hi,
I tried to root my Samung Galaxy Spica i5700 mainly because I wanted to install Link2SD as there is not much space in the phone for installing apps.

I rooted as per instructions and I got the message “Your phone has been rooted successfully” and the test was OK – I installed Link2SD but it told me it does not has root access.

I rebooted the phone and after that when I try to run any application that requires root access, I get a message from Superuser that access has been denied to link2sd or any other app.

I tried the process again but same result. Any idea what the problem is and what can I do ?
    Thanks

unsucessful rooting of LG Optimus P970 Froyo :
I run superoneclick 2.3.3.0 as an administrator on a Vista machine. The phone is in USB debugging mode, with no SD card.
I click the ROOT button, it starts running. The phone reboots, and then the application gets stuck at :
Shell rooting device step # 4 shellcommand 56.93s export export PS1=””propert service neuter…
The last line one the other window :
Killing adba. (should restart in a second or two)

    But it doesn’t.
If I disconnect the phone – it does not respond when I touch the screen.
After I reboot the phone and reconnect it, superoneclick continues running for a while and ends at:
    Shell rooting device step # 5 WaitForDevice 209.12 s
The last line one the other window :
    Mount operation not permitted.
    End:88296

    I can send full screen-prints by e-mail.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Polaroid PMID701C
Is it true that SuperOneClick will not work on XP or Vista. In XP it remains unknown device. In Vista it has drivers loaded for 2 usb drivers with specific name Polaroid PMID701C. I have tried 5 computers and the closest I get, is SuperOneClick recognizing device, but when you click on yes to force install of drivers it errors with “no signature was present in the subject” or “unable to load difxapi.dll” I have tried downloading and manually registering this dll but still get errors forget exact error, something about entry line. Anyone know if this dll is unique to Win 7 or part of latest version of framework not available in other versions of windows? has anyone got SuperOneClick to work in Vista or XP? I have rooted dozens of mobile phones and never had a problem with other methods on XP or Vista. I have updated operating systems and installed latest version of Framework. Also tried installing Android SDK. I have 6 or 7 computers available to me, but none with Win 7. Any ideas or suggestions?
Thanks Everyone for all the great information.
    Sincerely, Magnapro

I should have mentioned in case you are unfamiliar with this Polaroid tablet that many other people are successfully using SuperOneClick to root this partially rooted device. At least one other person in a forum mentioned failures until he used win 7 computer, then success. I just have no option for win 7 and doubt it is operating system. more than likely xp and vista are missing some support package that is needed to run SuperOneClick.

I think the developer meant it, when he said he had to take care of other things. There’s so many people having the same problem, stuck on #7. The interface is nice, and it runs well(preferably shell), but if he’s still working on it, maybe he can add more exploits, or make, or find a repository of different exploits, that the user can download to it. If he doesn’t have the time for it, open source it, so maybe people can take it further.

I was having this problem for a while, well.. I dont know how to root though, person in the mobile shop market helped me, he used this superoneclick.

before running SOC, make sure to apply this:
    cd c:\fastboot
fastboot flash boot boot.img (get the boot.img file intended for your device).

Temporary turn off Antivirus, connect phone to PC, open SOC and root… hope this helps.

For those who has problems…Try this (Remember to perform a backup BEFORE to try this), restart your cellphone as if you were to permform a hard reset when you see the reset menu or the hard reset logo (depending on your cellphone) conect it to the SuperOneClick quickly and try to make the root.
It was tested on my Alcatel OT-908F (which was unable to be rooted by ordinary procedures (Gingerbreak, SuperOneClick…)) and using this method everything went at the first try.

Hope this will be helpful for you.

    Hi,

i am using SuperOneClickv2.3.3-ShortFuse with a Neo Minix X5. It works for me under windows. I can connect to my device. However, using the “adblinux” binary under linux wont show the device. The device is recognised, when i plug it in, i have a corresponding udev.rules file with the 2207 manufacturer and 0006 device, i use the “adblinux” with and without root privileges and i am out of ideas now. Working with other devices e.g. samsung galaxy note 10.1 works with the same setup.

Any hints how to debug this issue?

Thanks anyway for the windows binary, it is my only way to adb right now.

    Best regard,
