I had to disable updates because I wanted to rush this release.
Either way, here’s v2.2 with more debug output, zergRush, newer ADB and latest Superuser

Hi mate
Have tried V2.2 for my Galaxy tab 8.9 assuming the success with tab 10.1 & similarity in platform would not hinder….
All’s good till step #4 – failed to set prot mask
I have attempted to resolve loop with the plug, unplug, tick, untick the usb debug option but still no joy…am willing to be patient & happily donate for your hard work.
kind regards Paul
Worked on my sisters motorola defy just fine. Still cant root my htc evo shift running android 2.3 gingerbread please get it working for this i appreciate all your hard work so far keep at it man

I am getting the same errors. or a hang at 7 or 5. depending which superone i tried. I have been trying this off and on for almost 3 weeks now.
I guess I should have got this phone before they put 2.3.3 in it. Looks like this is one of the hard ones. I am a bit of a phone noob though. I hope it isn’t nand lock. I just got this phone 10/26/11.
I crack metro phones like pistachios.
Much thanks when some one gets OS 2.3.3 version cracked and shares it.

Yes you can. I bought the Starlight 2 Android phone from Lightinthebox.com. It is clearly an HTC HD7 clone. I have rooted this and it works better and the battery lasts longer. Email me if you need help.

Second Vote for Vizio VTAB1008 tablet, please!
To those wanting to root their VTAB: There was an update to zergRush released earlier today that does work with the tab, I can confirm 100% that this plays nicely with SOC 2.2. Simply grab the new ZR file from the DoomLord toolkit (if the DL kit don’t work for you), and drop it into SOC’s Exploits folder, and well, root away!

I was unable to root my Samsung Galaxy S (SCH-i500) Running Gingerbread 2.3.4 using superoneclick v2.2. It would start the process but at Step#7 it will hang saying waiting for device.
Any luck by removing the microSD card first? Seems that it works for the i9000 version.
It did not work for me. The SCH-i500 stops at step 7 every time with card out, anivirus off, set admin rihgts to oneclick, and set to xp sp2 mode. It did work great for 2.2 but 2.3.4 and 2.3.5 not so much.
Yeah I gave it a shot and removed my micro sd card and tried again. Still same thing. Step 7 (Waiting for device). So frustrating!!!
I neither could root my LG970 Optimus Black. The procedure failed at the same step and with similar symptoms as pointed out by the guys who tried it with a P990.
Is it important on what PC I try to do this? I am using an XP SP3 System.
Btw my virus scanner deleted a portion of the zip archive i.e. it discovered a malware in the gingerbread exploit and deleted this one automatically. Could this be a reason for the rooting not to work?
Thx for any support
Yup, same happened with me……….some files in the Gingerbread exploit are detected as virus, but they aren’t. Just turn off your antivirus. And run the expliot again…………………
Finally rooted my Samsung I9000 running (the weird) I9000DDJV9! Thanks a lot!
not working with my galaxy s (sgh-t959v), android 2.3.6 with super1click version 2.2, it stops at line 2 (start adb server/daemon)
Hi I am a newbee, I am getting following error:
mount: Operation not permitted
Am I missing some step?
Thanks!
2.2 will still not root Samsung SCH-I500 Gingerbread 2.3.4
hangs on step7—–no joy!!
I was unable to root my Samsung Mesmerize S (SCH-i500) Running Gingerbread 2.3.4 using superoneclick v2.2. It would start the process but at Step#7 it will hang saying waiting for device.
Im having same issue with samsung infuse 4g with att, have you found answer yet?
I had the same problem with the Infuse. I successfully rooted my phone by using the older SuperOneClick v1.9.5
not a thing…
Neither have it. I looked so hard for an answer I reached the end of the interwebz! o_O
Hi there!
Tried clicking on the download OneClick v2.2 download link and it repeatedly tells me the link does not work:
Oops! Google Chrome could not connect to shortfuse.org
Suggestions:
Go to shortfuse.org
Try reloading: ftp://shortfuse.org/SuperOneClick/Packages/SuperOneClickv2.2-ShortFuse.zip
Anything wrong with the link?
I think the site is very swamped. The FTP has a certain limit of number of simultaneous users. I’m hosting shortfuse.org at home, so I can’t kill my bandwidth. If the download link doesn’t work, try the XDA page
I’m about to backup a stock GT-S5830, so I used Your supperb application to gain root-previlegies. But before I dump the partitions, I want to remove the evidence of that the unit was rooted. So while still logged in as root in an adb session I removed:
/system/app/Superuser.apk
/data/dalvik-cache/system@app@Superuser.apk@classes.dex
/system/xbin/su
Q1. Is it something more your app added? (I got a question if I wanted to install busybox…)
Q2. I see in Dependencies folder busybox and sqlite3. Where does these files go?
Q3. Is it always safe to remove these files as well or does some ROMs require these files? (I have an “untouched” phone to see if the files are there…)
Thank you for a great application anyway…
/data/local/tmp/*
Somehow, It’s “Not responding” after the “Starting ADB Server”…
running Win 7 64Bit…any advice?
The device isn’t detected. Do you have the drivers installed?
yes, it is. Installed from Google debug drivers…R4…is that the right driver to install?

Does it work for Samsung I9100? For me, it always stuck at step 6, don’t ask me for installing busybox. How can I fix this problem?

After getting root, I was able to copy the nv_data.bin and bml files from the phone to my PC. However, sgux can’t seem to find the unlock (freeze) code.
I have both bml3 and nv_data.bin and here’s the hex contents searching for SSNV. Is the unlock code available or is it now encrypted?
Does anyone know how to get the code from the hex output below?
Thanks.

Hey Guys!!!!!! I found Out how to root using SuperOneClick. I just Require some additional steps using ADB. It’s working for me!!!!!!! Read my post here on my Blog:-
http://ayushandroidworld.blogspot.com/2011/11/how-to-root-lg-p500-with-gingerbread.html
hangs at step 5 – sleeping abit (40s)..pls help samsung galaxy tab 7″ 2.3.3
corrections it suddenly works after abt 10 tries..thks anyway..
I was just looking for this iaifrmntoon for some time. After six hours of continuous Googleing, at last I got it in your site. I wonder what’s the Google’s issue that doesn’t rank this kind of informative web sites closer to the top. Normally the top web sites are full of garbage.
is it possible to root an acer E130
( bs-type: android 2.1-update 1 )
it seems that it can’t get any farther than ‘ startting adb server’
the daemon starts succesfully buth afterwards the program stops responding.
regards
jeroen
